Alna Volunteer Fire Department serves the town of Alna, Maine and our neighboring communities.

We meet every Wednesday night at the fire station and are always looking for new members!!!

Alna Fire will take part in the Wiscasset Fire Department open house for Fire Prevention Week from 6 to 8 pm tonight. We will have our UTV on display, the unit is used for forestry operations and trail rescues.

Learning the Fire Service is open to all interested neighbors at Alna VFD. Stop by at 7pm on any Wednesday evening and we'll be happy to show you the various aspects of our department.

Sunset over the Cross Road fire pond reminds us of the approaching storm. A few tips: charge your phones and tablets and have fresh batteries in flashlights. Fill your tub with water in case you need water to flush. Check portable generators for fuel and remember to stage them outside at least 20 feet from the house. Bottled drinking water is handy to have along with snacks like poptarts. Stay away from downed wires and call 911. Be safe, we will be there if you need us.

COMMUNITY NOTICE - The north end of Golden Ridge Road will be closed on Tuesday, September 22nd for hose testing. All driveways will be accessible but there will be no thru traffic behind the fire station from 9:00am until around 1:00pm. Thank you for your cooperation.

With Fall setting in, remember to watch for wet leaves and pine needles that make roads slippery.

Alna Fire was alerted at 13:20 on September 8th for a vehicle accident on the Cross Road. Five firefighters responded, bringing Truck 2. There were no injuries, but the driver had mobility issues so we assisted with transferring the person to another vehicle. We checked for leaking fluids and controlled traffic while Blagden's Wrecker Service winched the truck from the ditch. Alna units cleared the scene at 15:00 hours.

Alna Fire responded to an MVA on Rt 194 at 10:17 on Wednesday, August 26th. The car went into a ditch and Alna FD assisted Wiscasset Ambulance Service with extracting the driver. Seven Alna firefighters protected the scene, worked with the Lincoln County Sheriff's deputy and controlled traffic.

Special Detail - Alna Fire was alerted at 10:10 on Thursday, August 20th to assist the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department by closing part of Head Tide Hill Road and screening local traffic while officers from the LCSO and MSP conducted a special operation near the Whitefield town line. Eight Alna firefighters responded with Trucks 1 and 2 to control the intersection and be prepared if LifeFlight of Maine was needed. The situation was brought to a close with no injuries to civilians, law or fire personnel. We appreciate drivers taking detours and the friends who brought drinks and snacks to our firefighters. Alna crews were on scene for 9 hours.
