As Banned Books Week wraps up, we hope you were able to see some of our Banned Books displays at our branches. If you did not, here are some photos from the following Tulare County branches: Visalia, Literacy, Exeter, Lindsay, Strathmore, and Springville.

All the displays look great and bring attention to the issue of intellectual freedom for all and the ongoing issues with censorship. Even though Banned Books Week is almost over, just remember to "Let Books Be".
Did you read any "Banned Books" this week?

The theme for Banned Books Week (October 4-10) is "Let Books Be. Protect the Freedom to Read." The American Library Association (ALA) Office of Intellectual Freedom collects censorship information on books that are challenged. Banned Books Week is an annual event celebrating the freedom to read and it highlights current and historical attempts to censor books in libraries and schools.
Banned Books Week promotes shared support of the freedom to seek and to express ideas, even if the ideas are unpopular. This information highlights censorship data collected by ALA for the year 2025. The data is broken down into informative categories including who challenges books and censorship trends.
During Banned Books Week. Tulare County Library branches will have banned book displays so be sure to check them out.
