The Alpena County Road Commission would like to know if anyone has a photo or photos of the Anderson Road Crossing over Long Lake Creek after the flood waters receded. We need photos of the exposed culverts only.

Some time prior to FEMA's visit someone re-covered the exposed culverts with gravel.
Since FEMA could not see the culverts, they must assume there was no effect on them. At this time, without proof the culverts were exposed/compromised the Alpena County Road Commission will not be eligible for funding to replace the crossing which is to be removed as early as this fall. You can message any pictures to the road commission page

What’s the deal with chip seal? This cost-effective treatment protects pavement and can add several years to the life of a road.

Chip seal creates a protective coating that helps prevent water from penetrating the pavement, seals small cracks and provides a skid-resistant surface.

AND it costs significantly less than a traditional asphalt overlay!

Remember: Follow posted speed limits and drive with extra care until the loose aggregate has been swept away.
