Summer may be for the kids, but Fall is your time, adults!

A fun, low pressure reading challenge for adults begins October 1 at the Altamont Public Library. It will run until the end of November.

Pick up your bingo card at the circulation desk, beginning October 1, and start your Fall reading journey. Each bingo will bring a prize, and see you included in a weekly drawing for a special weekly prize. It’s bound to be a lot of fun!

We have so many wonderful new kids books available at the library!

I am very excited about this new set, The Prince Martin Series. They are perfect, especially for boys ages six through 10 as a family read aloud, or to read on their own. Written by Brandon Hale, a captain in the US Army, who wrote them for his little boy when he was deployed, as a way to keep connected to his young son. They are full of classic adventure, and hold up courage, sacrifice, grit, and friendship. Timeless books.

Sorry StoryTime families, we have had to reschedule our September storytime. It was supposed to be the third Thursday, we have had to move it to the fourth Thursday. I will put several reminders up on Facebook. Here is the new information. Thank you.

Not only does your card give you access to the materials in our library, but with the touch of a button, you can request items from anywhere in our library system, to be delivered to our building! Books, movies, games, kits, ebooks and e-audiobooks! The possibilities are endless!

If you reside in the city limits, your card is paid for by a small tax, if you are outside the city limits, the cost is $60/year for your household. We have kept the cost of a non-resident card the same for over 17 years. For the price of 2 hardcover books, you have unlimited library services for a household for a whole year! It’s a wonderful bargain!!
