National Friends of Libraries Week is October 18–24!

This week is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the Friends of the Gilman Library and all they do to support our library and our community. From fundraising and supporting library programs to helping provide resources that enhance what we can offer our patrons, the Friends play an important role in the life of the library.

It’s also a great time to recognize the people who make up this dedicated group and encourage others to get involved. If you’ve ever thought about becoming a Friend of the Gilman Library, National Friends of Libraries Week is the perfect time to learn more and join in supporting your local library.

Thank you to our Friends for all that you do for Gilman Library and the Alton community!

Alton, NH Parks & Recreation has a fun fall challenge for you!

Looking for a fun way to enjoy fall in Alton? 🍂

Our Alton Fall Find-It scavenger hunt is an invitation to slow down, explore, and notice the little things around town. Bring the family, take a walk with a friend, or head out on your own and see how many you can spot!

There’s no need to find everything in one day. If you take a photo, share your favorite find in the comments—we’d love to see what you discover.

Happy exploring! 🍄
