For Story Time this morning, we read the book Sammy in the Fall.
We then made our leaf rubbings from leaves found on the ground. What a fun art project!

The Alton Library is now going to Alton Head Start for special Story Time with the children. Our library loves to share the joy of books and reading!

We have this beautiful quilt made by the Sew Blessed Piecemakers group. They are selling raffle tickets to win at the Black Gold Walnut Festival on October 3rd on display at our library.
Such a beautiful piece of art!

All five Oregon County libraries will be closed on Monday, September 7th for Labor Day.

We are ready for Back To School for the kids this month! Our library has so many new books to share! Come in and check out our new books to take you on your next reading adventure!

The Happy McReaders program also runs through August 31st! So continue to read books and get your card punched to receive your free Happy Meal from McDonald’s.

On Wednesday, Iva Buffington with Missouri Junior Stream Team presented a program on river safety. This included information on life jacket safety and how to correctly wear a life jacket. A Do’s and Don’t on river activities was also reviewed. We enjoyed having a three week program in the library and learning a lot about being good stewards for Missouri rivers, streams and lakes.
