The Chicago Cubs season might be over, but some history of the team isn’t! There is a relationship between the Cubs and Altona, believe it or not! Eva Nelson, was the eighth child of CG and Elna Nelson. She grew up in the big white house, on the hill on Rt 34, as you leave Altona going to Oneida. The home now belongs to her nephew and his wife, Dennis and Betty Nelson. Eva married Hal Carlson, a player for the Chicago Cubs! They met while she was going to school at Northwestern in Evanston. They got married on October 24,1924. His life and career were cut extremely short. Read the article written about him.
