10:50 p.m. Update: We have confirmed that 911 service is restored.

——————————

The State Emergency Operations Center is aware of the ongoing AT&T issues affecting 911 calls in the state.

Portions of the state are currently affected by a 911 routing issue that began at approximately 4 p.m. today. The issue is causing some 911 calls to be misrouted to other parts of the state. 911 centers were notified and began transferring calls to the appropriate call centers as needed. At approximately 4:20 p.m., incoming calls were routed to the proper call center using predetermined 10 digit telephone lines. When calling 911 please be prepared to provide your location and telephone number.

Calls to 911 are still being answered, but if you experience trouble, please check with your local emergency management, police, fire, or 911 center for an alternate phone number for your area. Many local jurisdictions are posting back-up numbers on their page, X account, or website.

We are in close contact with our 911 partners and have not received any assistance requests from local jurisdictions.

**DO NOT call 911 to test your service.

Earlier this month, Alva EMS and Alva Fire Department had the opportunity to come together for an evening inservice full of hands on training.

Alva EMS presented a pediatric refresher discussing important considerations when caring for our smallest populations. From assessment to safe transport, pediatric calls require a different approach.

Alva Fire Department presented information for firefighter rehab and pack assists, giving EMS a better look at how to recognize when a firefighter needs assistance, properly support rehab operations, and safely assist with packs.

Training together helps us better understand each other’s roles, strengthen communication, and be more prepared when we’re working along side each other on real calls. We’re grateful for the opportunity to learn from one another and continue building a stronger team for our community.

Excited to see our ladies getting closer to the end! So incredibly proud of Alicia Taylor and Katey Bullock!

Temporary Closure - Share Drive
In order to install the new storm water culvert at Share Drive and US Hwy 281, ODOT will be closing all or part of Share Dr. over the coming days. See details below.

June 16-21, 2026:
US Hwy 281 and Share Dr - intermittent lane closures on Share Dr. at intersection

June 22, 2026:
(exact duration of work is unknown, but this is anticipated to be the better part of the day)
CLOSURE: Share Dr. from US Hwy 281 to Murray Dr.;
HOSPITAL ACCESS from US Hwy 281: Murray Dr. to Share Dr.;
NO STREET PARKING: East side of Murray Dr.

The construction schedule, street and lane closures, alternate route to the hospital, and restricted street parking will be dependent on weather, but the above schedule is as close of a projection as can be stated at this time.

Should there be any changes to this plan, we will update this post.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Congratulations Sage! Good luck to you, we will miss you.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Share Medical Center, Woods County Dispatch, St.Marys, and Survival Flight 24 for the thoughtful goodies, treats, and support shown to our crews this week.
Your generosity and recognition mean more than you know. EMS is truly a team effort, and we are fortunate to work alongside organizations that share the same commitment to serving our community.
Thank you to the staff at St.Marys & Share Medical Center for the exceptional care you provide to our patients and for being an invaluable healthcare partner. Thank you to Woods County Dispatch for being the calm voice on the other end of the radio and helping coordinate emergency responses around the clock. Thank you to Survival Flight 24 for the critical service you provide to our region and for being there when our patients need advanced and rapid transport.
We appreciate each of you and the vital role you play in the emergency services system. Together, we help ensure the residents of Northwest Oklahoma receive the care they need when they need it most.

As EMS Week comes to a close, we want to take a moment to recognize and thank every member of the Alva EMS family.
The late nights. The long transfers. The difficult calls. The missed holidays, family gatherings, and special moments. The lack of sleep. The emotional and mental toll that comes with answering the call day after day. These sacrifices often go unseen, but they matter, and so do each of you.
Rural EMS is not easy. Our crews face long transport times, challenging weather conditions, limited resources, and critical decisions that must be made in seconds. Through it all, you continue to show up with professionalism, compassion, and dedication to the people of Woods County.
What makes this team even more remarkable is the commitment to continued education and professional growth. Many of you spend your time off attending classes, completing continuing education, studying for advanced certifications, and sharpening your skills, not because you have to, but because you want to provide the highest level of care possible to our patients. The time and effort you invest in becoming better providers directly benefits every person who calls 911 and every patient entrusted to our care.
We are incredibly fortunate to work alongside some of the very best providers around:

Heather Boeckman, Paramedic
Ethan Flynt, Paramedic
Olivia Decker, Paramedic
Katey Bullock, Advanced EMT
Tabitha Robinson, Advanced EMT
Susy Altamirano, Advanced EMT
Rebecca Davidson, Advanced EMT
Brooke Meyer, Advanced EMT
Ronald Vasquez II, EMT
Nathaniel Atienza, EMT
Katie Church, EMT
Britni Beck, EMT
Brandon Keplinger, EMT
Brendan Lohrding, EMR
Austin Durkee, EMR

Thank you for your commitment to this service, to one another, and to the citizens we serve. Thank you for the compassion you show patients on their worst days, for the teamwork you demonstrate during difficult situations, and for the countless hours you dedicate to keeping this community safe.
Your impact reaches far beyond the back of an ambulance. You are a source of comfort during emergencies, a reassuring presence during uncertainty, and a lifeline for our community when help is needed most.
You are appreciated more than words can express, and we are proud to serve alongside each and every one of you.
Happy EMS Week from all of us at Alva EMS. 🚑❤️
