The Alvin Police Officers Association would like to extend a huge thank you to the Alvin Police Department Chaplains for providing our officers and members with an amazing BBQ lunch, topped off with some incredible banana pudding in honor of National Police Week.

The Chaplains also took the time to recognize all of our female members in law enforcement both civilian and sworn by providing them with flowers, a thoughtful gesture that was greatly appreciated by everyone.

Your continued support, encouragement, and dedication to our department and members never goes unnoticed. To our Chaplains, thank you for all that you do for the men and women of our Association and Department every single day.

During National Police Week 2026, we want to recognize and thank the men and women of the Alvin Police Department, the Alvin Police Officers Association, and law enforcement officers across this country for their service, sacrifice, and dedication to protecting their communities every single day.

This profession demands long hours, missed holidays, time away from family, and the willingness to run toward danger when others run away. Despite the challenges, police officers continue to serve with courage, professionalism, and pride.

This week, we also honor and remember the officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Their courage and legacy will never be forgotten.

To every officer working the streets, answering calls, investigating crimes, working inside the jail, dispatching emergencies, and supporting operations behind the scenes, we say, “Thank you” for all that you do. Your work matters, and your sacrifices do not go unnoticed.

From the Alvin Police Officers Association, Happy National Police Week 2026. Stay safe and watch out for one another. 💙🇺🇸👮‍♂️👮‍♀️

This week, we recognize National Correctional Officers Week and the men and women who serve behind the walls of our Detention Facility.

Our detention officers play a critical role in public safety, maintaining order, ensuring the care and custody of inmates, and handling situations that most people never see. It’s a job that requires patience, strength, and professionalism every single day.

Their work often goes unnoticed, but it should never go unappreciated.

To our detention officers: thank you for your dedication, your resilience, and your commitment to doing a tough job the right way. We appreciate everything you do for our department and our community.

As President of the Alvin Police Officers Association, I had the opportunity to attend a campaign fundraiser yesterday in Pearland hosted by Jon Albin, who has proudly served with the Pearland Police Department for 26 years. Jon is currently running for Brazoria County Justice of the Peace, Precinct 3, Place 2.

Our association takes seriously the responsibility of staying informed and engaged with the leaders and candidates who shape our city, county, state, and nation. Opportunities like this allow us to better understand the individuals seeking public office and the vision they have for the communities we serve.

Thank you, Mr. Albin, for the invitation and for taking the time to share your goals and plans. It was also great to see so many familiar faces in attendance, all showing their support and commitment to the future of Brazoria County.

We appreciate the chance to learn more and remain committed to staying involved in the process.

On Tuesday, April 21, 2026, several members of the Alvin Police Officers Association had the honor of attending the Crime Victims Luncheon held at the Alvin Senior Center.

Each year, our Association is proud to sponsor and fund the purchase of the butterflies released by victims’ families during this meaningful event. Those butterflies serve as a powerful symbol of remembrance, a reminder that their loved ones are never forgotten, that their spirit remains with them, and that their legacy continues to live on through those who love them.

It was truly inspiring to witness the incredible volunteers and community members who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make this event such a success. Your compassion and dedication do not go unnoticed.

Our members were also deeply moved by hearing Dr. Gregory A. Williams share his powerful childhood story. His courage and willingness to speak openly about his experiences served as an important reminder to victims that they should never feel silenced or afraid to tell their story. His message of strength, healing, and resilience was truly impactful on all of us.

We would also like to extend special recognition to Maribel Cooper, our Crime Victims Liaison at the Alvin Police Department, for her unwavering dedication, compassion, and hard work in serving both our department and victims in our community. Your efforts make a lasting difference in the lives of so many and we are proud to work alongside you.

Thank you for allowing us to be a part of such a meaningful event. To all victims and their families, please know that we stand with you, we support you, and we will continue to honor your loved ones.
