Construction updates are coming to Alvin High School as part of the voter-approved 2024 Bond program.
Beginning May 26, 2026, major construction activity will begin on the Johnson Street side of campus. During this phase of construction, there will be no public or operational access to Alvin High School from Johnson Street through at least late summer 2027. The Johnson Street entrance area will serve as construction access only.
Starting May 26, the Alvin High School front office will relocate near Memorial Stadium by the Auxiliary Gym at:
1305 W. Dumble Street
Alvin, TX 77511
Visitors, parents, and community members needing access to the front office should enter campus from W. Dumble moving forward.
Directional signage will be posted along S. Johnson Street, near the Horseshoe entrance, and around the stadium to help guide visitors to the new office location. Visitor parking will be available at the relocated front office entrance.
These improvements are part of the 2024 Bond program and include:
• Expansion of classroom and instructional spaces
• Additional capacity for approximately 400–500 students
• Updated Career and Technical Education (CTE) spaces, including replacement of the Luke Kennedy CTE Building
• Repurposing the old auditorium space into the future main entrance of the campus
We appreciate the community’s patience and support as these improvements help prepare Alvin High School to serve future generations of Yellowjackets.

So amazing that Iowa Colony High School staff took a few minutes to celebrate Officer Yates' birthday while still preparing for graduation!! Students took a moment to sing her happy birthday in the halls! She sure felt the love!

Due to extensive storm-related water damage at Wilder and Marek Elementary Schools, both campuses will remain closed for the remainder of the school year.
Additional end-of-year information will be shared by your campus administrator.
We appreciate your patience, understanding, and cooperation as we work to address these issues and ensure our campuses are safe for students and staff.
