Bayou Wildlife Zoo Summer Hours begin June 2!

Planning a visit this summer? Make sure to check their updated seasonal hours before heading out for a wild day in Alvin.

Summer Hours:
Monday: Closed
Tuesday–Friday: 9:00 AM–2:00 PM
Saturday: 9:00 AM–4:00 PM
Sunday: 12:00 PM–4:00 PM

Last entry is 30 minutes prior to closing.

From tram rides to animal encounters, Bayou Wildlife Zoo is a great summer stop for families, visitors, and anyone looking to add a little adventure to their day. 🦒

📢 Calling All Tourism Projects, Programs & Event Organizers!

Do you have a project, program, or event that brings visitors to Alvin? Visit Alvin is now accepting FY 2027 Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) Grant Applications for tourism-related efforts that promote Alvin and help generate overnight hotel stays in our community.

📆 Application Period:
June 1, 2026 – July 30, 2026

Under state law, all HOT expenditures must meet two legal requirements:
1. Directly promote tourism and the hotel industry, AND
2. Fall within one of the nine allowable categories established by state statute.

Eligible uses include, but are not limited to:
-Tourism advertising, marketing, and promotional efforts
-Visitor information services and destination marketing initiatives
-Cultural arts programs that attract visitors
-Historical preservation projects that encourage tourism
-Tourism-related events and festivals that generate overnight stays
-Certain sporting events and facilities that bring visitors to the area

HOT funds cannot be used for general government operations, routine maintenance, or projects that only benefit local residents without a clear tourism impact.
