Incident: Homicide Investigation – 4000 Block of South Polk Street
The Amarillo Police Department is investigating a shooting that left one man deceased Thursday night.
On October 22, 2026, at approximately 9:00 p.m., Amarillo Police officers were dispatched to the 4000 block of South Polk Street in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located Bradley Thompson, 48, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Thompson was pronounced deceased at the scene.
During the preliminary investigation, officers learned that a vehicle described as a small SUV of unknown color was seen leaving the area. The suspect or suspects have not been identified at this time.
The Amarillo Police Department’s Homicide Unit, along with additional APD personnel, responded to the scene. The investigation remains ongoing.

El Departamento de PolicĂa de Amarillo investiga un tiroteo que resultĂł en la muerte de un hombre la noche del jueves.
El 22 de octubre de 2026, aproximadamente a las 9:00 p. m., agentes de la PolicĂa de Amarillo fueron enviados a la cuadra 4000 de South Polk Street tras recibirse un reporte sobre un tiroteo. Al llegar, los agentes encontraron a Bradley Thompson, de 48 años, quien presentaba mĂşltiples heridas de bala. Thompson fue declarado fallecido en el lugar de los hechos.
Durante la investigaciĂłn preliminar, los agentes obtuvieron informaciĂłn de que un vehĂculo —descrito como un SUV pequeño de color desconocido— fue visto alejándose de la zona. Por el momento, no se ha identificado al sospechoso ni a los posibles sospechosos.
La Unidad de Homicidios del Departamento de PolicĂa de Amarillo, junto con otro personal de la corporaciĂłn, acudiĂł al lugar. La investigaciĂłn continĂşa en curso.
