We have a labyrinth that's a product of resources & time. It's not always clean cut and doesn't get a lot of traffic. But we're proud of it and have plans, which include cultivating perennials in the margins, between the tracks.
Right next to the labyrinth, towards the main trailhead is a large Western Soapberry (sapindus drummondi). It's a native - there's a nice copse near the creek N of the bluff. We really like this tree, it provides shade & often shelters a picnic table.
Shade & shelter is something we want more of. This old soapberry makes a lot of seeds, and sends out a lot of shoots.
These shoots are growing up in the labyrinth - amongst the rocks. We want to let many of these grow, and we'll prune them over time.
DO NOT TRAMPLE OUR PLANTS.
This isn't the first time. It is unacceptable. In general you're expected to follow leave no trace principles. Our visitors do a good job of this, we're appreciative of y'all who spend time & care for this place!
If you don't like something about our facilities management, come talk with us. We can have a conversation.
If you're the trampler, don't come talk with us. The hurt is fresh. Just stop. We have cameras and can start cracking down...
