Over the past several weeks, we’ve had quite a few members of our community reach out and ask what they can do to help support the Amber Fire Department. First and foremost, thank you! The support our volunteers receive from this community means more to us than we can say. ❤️🚒🔥

For those who have asked, there are several everyday supplies that our department can always put to good use, especially during the hot summer months and wildfire season:

💧 Bottled water
🧊 Sports drinks/electrolyte drinks
🥤 Electrolyte drink mixes/packets
🍫 Granola bars, protein bars & individually packaged snacks
🥜 Beef jerky, trail mix & other nonperishable snacks
🧴 Sunscreen
🧻 Wet wipes and Chapstick

These may seem like small things, but when our volunteers are working a grass fire for several hours in the Oklahoma heat, hydration, snacks, and rehab supplies make a huge difference.

There is absolutely no obligation to donate anything. We are simply putting this out there because so many people have reached out asking what they can do to help.

📍 Anyone wishing to donate supplies can drop them off at the Amber Fire Station or Amber City Hall.

We are incredibly fortunate to serve a community that supports its volunteer firefighters the way ours does. Whether you donate supplies, bring us a case of water, share a kind word, or simply keep our firefighters and neighboring departments in your thoughts and prayers, we appreciate you.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out to our Fourth Fest event this past Saturday! Seeing our community come together made the day truly special, and we couldn’t have asked for a better turnout.

Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, donated, and helped behind the scenes. Your support is what keeps us going!

Good morning,

Red Flag Warning in place for most of Oklahoma as very dry air again surges across the state priming wildland fuels to support rapid rates if fire spread as above normal temperatures and windy conditions continue. An approaching cold front will challenge control lines on recent wildland fire activity and present potential for changes in spread direction this afternoon.

Avoid all activities that may spark a wildfire today! If you have had any outdoor burning, prescribed burning or controlled burns in recent days, please take the time to ensure that they are dead out and not the source of new wildfires today!
