Local Government Ambler Borough is the social, cultural and business center of this area.

It is a friendly small town covering less than a square mile in area with a stable population of 6400. The Ambler Borough Environmental Advisory Council is looking for volunteers for the Fall Tree Planting on Saturday November 14, 2026 from 9:00am to 12:00pm.

Meet at the Ambler Borough Hall Parking lot. The Ambler EAC is planting trees at Ambler Residences, Parks and 501Cs. They would love to have the Tree Tenders and other volunteers willing to help plant trees and learn about them at the same time.

Some tools and gloves will be available, but feel free to bring your own.

Ambler Water Dept. will conduct routine system hydrant flushing Wednesday October 7, 2026 between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Forest Avenue and Hendricks Street in Ambler Borough as well as Loch Alsh Avenue, Cedar Road, Heather Road, Hoffman Road, Argyle Avenue, Ardross Avenue, Douglas Street, and Meadowbrook Avenue in Upper Dublin Township. Check back often for current daily flushing schedule.

If you experience discolored water, DO NOT OPEN THE HOT WATER SIDE OF YOUR FAUCET as this will bring the discolored water into the hot water tank. RUN COLD WATER only from your faucet for several minutes. Continue repeating this process until the water runs clear. If you have a water softener, it is suggested you bypass the water softener until the situation is ‘clear.’ For further information contact the Water Department at 215-646-1000 ext. 110 or 111 between 8-4:00 p.m., M-F.

Ambler Borough Comprehensive Plan: Draft Goals
The Ambler Borough Planning Commission is preparing a new comprehensive plan to establish the Borough’s long-term vision and identify strategies to achieve it. Since the plan was last updated in 2013, Ambler has continued to evolve while preserving many defining strengths, including its compact, walkable character, vibrant downtown, diverse housing options, extensive system of parks and open space, strong school district, and excellent public transit access.

The comprehensive plan will address land use, housing and neighborhoods, transportation and mobility, economic development, and sustainability. Input gathered through a January 2024 open house, a community survey, and extensive discussions at over a dozen Planning Commission meetings has helped shape the draft goals presented tonight. You can review background reports that the Planning Commission has reviewed throughout the planning process by clicking here.

This survey offers a paperless option for Community Open House participants and for those unable to attend the September 22 event being held at Ambler Borough Hall, 131 Rosemary Avenue, Ambler, PA 19002.

Ambler Borough is updating its comprehensive plan. The plan provides a vision for the borough’s development over the next 20 years. Join us on September 22, 2026 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Ambler Borough Hall gym. The Ambler Borough Planning Commission invites you to a public open house to review draft comprehensive plan goals and share your feedback on Ambler’s future. The draft goals are the result of extensive community input gathered throughout the comprehensive planning process.
