June was a busy and productive month for ACCERT as we supported our community and strengthened our emergency response skills.

On June 5, ACCCERT volunteers provided crowd management for the American Canyon Middle School Graduation, helping ensure a safe and enjoyable event for approximately 2,000 attendees.

On June 10, we assisted the American Canyon Chamber of Commerce during its annual Meet Me in the Streets event by providing both crowd and traffic management to help the event run smoothly.

Then, on June 20, our team trained alongside the crews of E11 and E211 from the American Canyon Fire Protection District. The hands-on training focused on advanced lifting, stabilization, and cribbing techniques for safely moving heavy objects. Working side by side with our Fire Protection District partners builds confidence, strengthens teamwork, and helps ensure we're prepared to respond together when our community needs us most.

A big thank you to all of our CERT volunteers and our partners at the American Canyon Fire Protection District for their continued commitment to keeping our community safe.

Are you someone who wants to be prepared when disaster strikes? Free disaster preparedness training is available to residents of Napa County!

The CERT Basic Skills course is held from 8am-5pm over two Saturdays and 8am-12pm on one Sunday for a total of 20 hours of training. Whether you join a CERT team or not, the class provides great information on Disaster Preparedness that anyone can use.

The next CERT Basic Skills course will be held at the Napa Community College on Jan 10th, 17th and 18th. Classes are filling up, so don’t hesitate to sign up! Visit https://www.napacounty.gov/2525/Training-Opportunities to sign up.
