The Utah Chapter of the American Planning Association (APAUT) is an official Chapter of the American

The Utah Planning Association (UTPA) is an official Chapter of the American Planning Association (APA). UTAPA is a 500-plus member organization of professional planners and planning officials who serve Utah’s communities in many ways, at all levels of government, the private sector and not-for-profit organizations. The purpose of the Chapter is to encourage, promote and assist physical, economic, and human resources planning within the State of Utah and to further the purposes of the American Planning Association, including but not limited to the following:

- To provide for the exchange of ideas and to disseminate information to public officials and others engaged in or interested in planning and community development;
- To foster meetings, conferences, and educational programs relating to planning and development;
- To promote and support research and publications relating to planning and development and other pertinent subjects;
- To develop programs for the examination and continuing education of professional planners;
- To otherwise promote understanding, cooperation, coordination, and support necessary for progressive planning and development throughout the State of Utah.

Planning is even better by bike! 🚲

APA Utah’s recent ride along Salt Lake City’s 9-Line Trail brought planners together to experience the project firsthand and learn about the work behind it. It was a great opportunity to connect with colleagues, ask questions, and see planning in action.

This is just one of the experiences APA Utah offers every month! From project tours to conversations with fellow planners, these events are a great way to explore Utah communities, exchange ideas, and meet the people shaping them.

After 10 years of service on the APA Utah Board of Directors, including her time as Vice President, Meagan Booth is taking her leadership to the national stage! 💚

Meagan has given so much of her time, energy, and expertise to APA Utah and Utah’s planning community over the past decade. Her thoughtful leadership and commitment to the profession have made a lasting impact on our chapter, and we are incredibly grateful for everything she has contributed.

We are thrilled to share that Meagan will now serve as Vice Chair for Women in Planning with the American Planning Association. This is an exciting national leadership role and a well-deserved next chapter.

Congratulations, Meagan! APA Utah is proud to see one of our own helping shape the planning profession at the national level. 🎉
