We hope everyone weathered the storm safely. We were staffed and able to respond to numerous weather related calls overnight. Currently Utility Crews are working in multiple areas of the City. Fallen trees are the culprit for Power interruption. The Lake Collins area has Georgia Power on scene working to clear downed lines and hang new service. The Wildwood Circle area has multiple Power lines down and a Contract crew on scene restoring power. Please be patient with the hard working people trying to restore power. Public Works will be working hard to clear roadways as well. We know it’s Football season and many are ready to watch and root their favorite team on to victory. We imagine these crews would like to do the same. They are working hard and hope to have restored service by 6:30 PM.

A thoughtful Citizen found a Cellphone and stopped by Station 1 in Americus to turn it in. We have given the phone to the Americus Police Department. If you have lost a phone or know someone who has please stop by the Police Department to identify and claim.

Americus Fire & Emergency Services recently participated in an Imminent Delivery & Neonatal Resuscitation Program training led by Mindy Spencer and Ashton Peterson of Phoebe Sumter.
The training combined classroom instruction and hands-on skills development. The class focused on labor and delivery, recognizing potential complications, and preparing firefighters to respond effectively during challenging or emergency births.
We would like to thank Mindy, Ashton, and the Phoebe Sumter team for sharing their expertise and helping our firefighters strengthen the knowledge and skills needed to provide the best possible care when called upon.
Because when a baby decides it's time, we need to be ready too.

We have been actively recruiting and this four legged friend showed up ready to work. This pup completed his morning PT and is catching a ride to the Humane Society for safe keeping. Our four legged friend will still be able to take call and reunite with its owner soon we hope. Please share and spread the word for this pawsome friendly pup. 🐶

Tuesday tidbit. While out at GSW today refreshing our familiarity of buildings in our response area we stumbled upon this great art piece. Artwork done by a student and displayed proudly. We think this is an amazing display of talent. Firefighter Fort was in the group today and posed for this great piece. Proud for the artist and as always we are proud to serve our community.
