Yesterday our crews staffed the Pacers vs. Timberwolves game that was hosted at Hilton Coliseum here in Ames.

It was a very fun game to watch and it was a very safe evening as well with us seeing less than 10 patients!

We love staffing these special events and look forward to doing more of them!

This evening around 2000 hours MGMC EMS, Ames Fire Department, and Ames Police Department personnel responded to a two-vehicle collision on South Duff Ave in Ames. A four-door sedan and a four-door pickup truck collided head-on at a moderate rate of speed.

Upon initial responders arrival, three patients were identified, with one being in serious condition and requiring extrication from the sedan due to the nature of the crash. Two additional MGMC EMS ambulances were dispatched to the scene as a result.

All three patients were transported to area hospitals. Two were brought to Mary Greeley Medical Center, and the patient who required extrication was transported emergent to a Des Moines Hospital for further trauma care.

We are not able to release details regarding patient conditions or outcomes at this time.
