A big thank you to one of our great local community groups at Summerfield of Amherst!

Last night, Summerfield welcomed Captain Gerome, Detective Aspinwall, and representatives from Service Credit Union for an informative presentation on identity theft.

We talked about some of the recent trends weโ€™re seeing, common scams and tactics used by hackers, and, most importantly, some simple tips everyone can use to help protect themselves and their personal information.

We appreciate everyone who came out, asked questions, and took the time to learn more about staying safe in an increasingly connected world.

Thank you again to our friends at Summerfield and Service Credit Union for helping us keep our community informed and protected!

Never forget. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Amherst Police Departmentโ€™s K9 Niko to get donation of body armor

Amherst Police Department, NH - K9 Niko will receive a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. K9 Nikoโ€™s vest was sponsored by Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. and will be embroidered with the sentiment โ€œIn memory of Tim Connellโ€. Delivery is expected within ten weeks.

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc., established in 2009, is a 501(c)(3) charity whose mission is to provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the United States. Since its inception, Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. has provided over 6,631 vests valued at $6.9 million to K9s in all 50 states, made possible by both private and corporate donations.

Congratulations to everyone who attended the Amherst Police Department Youth Academy! ๐Ÿš”

Over the past two weeks, this great group of young adults made the most of the experience. They learned, asked questions, got hands-on experiences, and most importantly, had a lot of fun along the way.

Weโ€™re incredibly proud of the enthusiasm and effort they brought to the academy each day. It was great seeing everyone get involved and make the most of this opportunity.

A huge thank you to everyone who came in, volunteered their time, shared their knowledge, and helped make this the best experience possible for these kids. It truly took a great group of people to make our Youth Academy such a success.

Congratulations to all of our Youth Academy participants! We hope you had as much fun as we did! ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿš”

๐Ÿ“šโค๏ธ Way to go, Emma!

We had a great visit with 1st grader Emma, who did an awesome job with her reading this summer! Emma took part in the Amherst Town Libraryโ€™s summer reading program and read so much that she ended up winning a TON of prizes and a fun trip to our police station. ๐Ÿ“–๐ŸŽ‰

We were really happy to be able to be a small part of the program and provide a fun prize for Emma and her brothers at the police station. Emma was excited to get all of her prizes she earned and she was even kind enough to let her brothers join in on the fun.

A big thank you to the Amherst Town Library for putting together such a great summer reading program. Programs like this are such a positive way to keep kids reading, learning, and having fun over the summer.

Great job, Emma! Weโ€™re proud of you! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ“š And keep up the reading! ๐Ÿš”๐Ÿ“–
