Amherst, Nebraska, Volunteer Fire Department

10/03/2026

We recently had the opportunity to conduct a controlled house fire training! A big thank you to the Miller, Pleasanton, and Trumbull Fire Departments for joining us. We appreciate everyone who took the time to participate and train together! 🚒🔥

We are also working toward purchasing another grass rig to better serve our community and the surrounding communities. If you would like to support our department and help us reach our goal, we would greatly appreciate any donation—big or small!

The Amherst Volunteer Fire Department is raising funds to purchase a new grass rig. This equipment won’t just help protect the Amherst community—it will also assist departments across Nebraska through mutual aid during grass fires and other emergencies.

If you’re willing to support this effort, we’d greatly appreciate your donation. Every contribution, big or small, helps us get one step closer to keeping our communities safe.

We are very thankful for the moisture that we did get! But at this time our area along with surrounding areas will NOT be issuing burn permits. Thank you for your attention to this matter and also understanding! 🛑
