The Bonneville County Fire District, located in Idaho, welcomes use of its various media sites by the public to comment on matters involving the District, the public interest, and for educational and information purposes. The purpose of the district’s social media sites is to create a space for open discussion and interaction wi
thin the District. The sites are also methods for the District to communicate matters of public interest concerning the Districts programs, activities, news stories, and photos. The District welcomes public comment and invites engagement in civil conversation. The Districts official website www.bcfd1.us is the Districts primary means of internet communication. Wherever possible, District social media accounts should link back to the Districts website for forms, documents, online services, and other information necessary to conduct business with the District. District Social Media Accounts are public forums under the First Amendment as visitors to the account or site are able to engage in interactive communications. However, user posts, comments, and messages shall have no right of privacy on the Districts social media sites, as such sites may be or contain public records subject to disclosure pursuant to the Idaho Public Records Act and the District’s records retention schedule. Bonneville County Fire District’s social media sites are routinely monitored by District staff and the District reserves the right to reject, remove, or hide content that violates the following standards:
• Contains personal identifying information or sensitive personal information;
• Contains offensive language that targets or discriminates on the basis of race, creed, color, age, religion, gender, marital status, status with regard to public assistance, national origin, physical or intellectual disability or sexual orientation or such other protected classes;
• Contains nudity, obscenity, or sexual content or links to sexual content;
• Is threatening, harassing, defaming, or is a personal attack;
• Incites or promotes violence or illegal activities;
• Contains information that reasonably could compromise individual or public safety;
• Promotes or endorses political campaigns, candidates, or ballot measures;
• Contains false information; • Infringes on copyrights or trademarks;
• Comments not topically related to the particular social medium article being commented upon;
• Solicitations of commerce;
• Comments from users who use accounts under assumed, fraudulent or assumed identities;
Repeated violation of this policy subjects the offending user to being banned from use of the District’s social media sites. Adherence to this policy ensures a pleasant experience for all users of the District’s social media sites. All users of the District’s social media site are deemed to give their implied consent to this disclaimer by their use of such social media sites. These guidelines shall be posted as a disclaimer

A User’s submission, comment, message, posting, liking, reacting, or any other publication of a comment on a District’s social media website constitutes acceptance of these terms.
