☕️ Sara’s Monday Morning Coffee 🍂☀️

Sara here! Enjoying this November sunshine while it lasts, because we all know New York weather likes to keep us guessing! 😂☕️

November is bringing plenty to the Montgomery County Health Department! 🩺🍁 We’re talking health, staying well as the temperatures drop, honoring our veterans on Veterans Day 🇺🇸, and getting ready for Thanksgiving! 🦃🍂

It’s a month for gratitude, community, and remembering to take care of ourselves and each other. ❤️

So grab your coffee, soak up that sunshine, thank a veteran, and start planning that Thanksgiving feast! Just remember, Sara will be supervising the pie situation. Quality control, you know! 😂🥧

Stay healthy, be thankful, and keep the coffee hot! ☕️🍁

November Is a Time to Check In With Yourself

As we enter November, take a moment to check in with yourself. The days are getting shorter, holiday plans are approaching, and everyday responsibilities can begin to feel overwhelming.

Your mental health deserves attention just as much as your physical health. Make time to rest, connect with people who support you, and recognize when you need a break.

You don't have to wait until you're struggling to prioritize your well-being. Small steps toward caring for yourself can make a difference.

👻🎃 TRICK-OR-TREAT, WASH, REPEAT!

It is the final day of Lead Poisoning Prevention Week, and we are wrapping things up with a little Halloween fun! 🧡

Before your little monsters head out for trick-or-treating, here is your family’s Halloween Lead Safety Checklist:

☑️ WASH: Wash little hands before eating treats and after playing outside.
☑️ WIPE: Wet-wipe windowsills and wet-mop floors to help keep lead dust under control.
☑️ WATCH: Keep children away from peeling paint and damaged painted surfaces, especially in older homes.
☑️ EAT WELL: Offer foods containing iron and calcium as part of a balanced diet to help reduce lead absorption.
☑️ TEST: Make sure your child receives recommended blood lead testing at ages 1 and 2.

🧡 A little prevention goes a long way! Lead Poisoning Prevention Week may be ending, but protecting our little pumpkins is a year-round job. Because we are Made of Something Stronger, we look out for one another.

Help us spread the word by sharing this post with your fellow parents, grandparents, and caregivers!

📞 The Montgomery County Health Department offers finger-stick lead testing at 1 Venner Rd, Amsterdam, NY 12010. Call 518-853-3531 for scheduling and assistance.

Wishing everyone a happy, healthy, and lead-safe Halloween! 🎃👻

🎃👻 DON’T LET LEAD SPOIL THE HALLOWEEN FUN!

Costumes? ✅ Candy? ✅ Pumpkins? ✅ Lead safety? Let’s check! 🕷️

As you get ready for Halloween, remember that lead hazards can be hiding where you least expect them — especially in older homes. Because we are Made of Something Stronger, we protect our families by staying informed and proactive.

🏚️ Beware of old paint! Homes built before 1978 may contain lead-based paint. Keep little ghouls and goblins away from peeling or chipping paint.

🧼 Wash away the spooky dust! Wet-wipe windowsills and wet-mop floors to help reduce lead dust. Wash your children's hands before they enjoy their Halloween treats!

🍬 Make handwashing part of the treat routine! After trick-or-treating and before snacking, make sure those little hands get a good wash.

🩸 Don't be spooked by the facts! Lead poisoning often has no obvious symptoms. Children should have their blood lead levels checked at ages 1 and 2.

This Halloween, the only thing haunting your family should be friendly ghosts and silly monsters — not preventable lead exposure! 👻💛

👻🚫 WHO YOU GONNA CALL? THE LEAD BUSTERS! 🚫👻

The Montgomery County Lead Poison Prevention Team and BCNI teamed up as the LEAD BUSTERS for a local Trunk or Treat! 🎃 We’re busting more than ghosts — we’re spreading the word about healthy homes and lead poison prevention!

🏠 Healthy homes start with prevention! If you live in an older home, have it inspected for lead hazards, especially before renovating.

🩸 Little ones need testing, too! Children should be tested for lead at ages 1 and 2, because lead exposure can happen without obvious symptoms.

Let’s work together to keep Montgomery County’s homes healthier, our children safer, and our community lead-free! 💚

✨ Remember: Bright futures begin lead free!

we do not own the rights to this music.
