To our AUHSD Community,

I want to speak directly to you about the increased ICE activity across our country and, most recently, in Anaheim and our AUHSD surrounding communities. I recognize the fear, uncertainty, anxiety, and concern these events have created for many of our students, families, and staff. Please know that we see you, we hear you, and we care deeply
about you. Your safety, dignity, and well-being matter to us.

Our schools must always be places of learning, belonging, connection, and trust. Every student, staff, family and community member deserves to feel safe, welcomed, and supported, and every family deserves to know that they are valued members of our community, regardless of background or immigration status. These commitments guide our
actions every day, especially during times of uncertainty.

We continue to keep our staff informed, maintain strong campus protocols, and work with local law enforcement partners and trusted community organizations to support campus safety while connecting families with resources. Our dedicated Immigration Resources webpage includes materials shared during our Know Your Rights town halls,
including legal information and community support options.

We will host additional Virtual Know Your Rights Forums on the following dates:

Monday, October 26, 2026: Spanish only
9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Tuesday, October 27, 2026: English, with Spanish, Korean, and Vietnamese interpretation
6:00 p.m.

(Please check your AUHSD email for Zoom links)

If you or someone you know needs support, please reach out. Our FACES team, Community Schools Coordinators, counselors, social workers, teachers, and administrators are here to listen, provide reassurance, and connect students and families with needed resources. You do not have to navigate these concerns alone. We are here for you.

In moments like these, our community's strength is found in how we care for one another. To our students and families, you are valued, you belong, and you matter. To our staff, thank you for the compassion and care you show our students and families each day.

Anaheim Union is a community built on belonging, inclusion, unity, and respect. On behalf of the Board and our AUHSD family, we will continue to listen, stand together, and do everything within our responsibility to ensure our students feel safe, supported, and able to learn without fear.

With care, solidarity, and an unwavering commitment to our community,

Dr. Jaron Fried
Superintendent
Anaheim Union High School District

9:00 a.m. y 6:00 p.m.

Dr. Jaron Fried
Superintendente
Distrito Unido de Escuelas Secundarias de Anaheim (AUHSD)

🌱💚 Students Taking Action for Cleaner Air!

South Junior High School students are putting Community-Based Learning (CBL) into action through a student-led “No Idling Campaign” aimed at improving air quality during school drop-off and pick-up times!

Using data from PurpleAir sensors installed across AUHSD, students are turning environmental science into real-world solutions.

South Junior High Eagles Take Science Beyond the Classroom! 🦅🐸🌿

Thanks to the generous sponsorship of the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance and the G.A. Foster Legacy Foundation, our South Junior High Eagles enjoyed an incredible, all-expenses-paid field trip, including transportation, to the San Diego Zoo Safari Park!

Students participated in an engaging, hands-on science lab led by the Zoo's education team, focusing on the endangered Southern Mountain Yellow-Legged Frog. Using wildlife telemetry equipment, students experienced how scientists locate and monitor these frogs in their natural habitats.

Students also learned about the Zoo's conservation efforts to breed this endangered species and reintroduce young frogs into their native mountain habitats near Big Bear.

Taking their learning a step further, our Eagles researched the species, evaluated potential reintroduction sites in the Big Bear area, and shared their ideas and recommendations to support the ongoing frog recovery project.

What an amazing opportunity for our students to engage in real-world science, conservation, critical thinking, and student voice!

A huge thank you to the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance and the G.A. Foster Legacy Foundation for making this unforgettable educational experience possible for our South Junior High Eagles! 🦅💚
