thread board president, Kevin Berry, makes his way to the polling place this week:

“I vote with my kids’ future in mind. My choices directly affect their opportunities - from K–12 education, to the child care facilities that prepare them for success before they even enter kindergarten. As both an economist and a dad, I understand how investments by our elected leaders can help build a strong foundation for their future.”

As you prepare to vote this election, take time to learn about the issues impacting children, families and the child care sector. 💗 Visit our election resource hub:

⭐ FUN FACTS! ⭐

Did you know we have bats in Alaska? Despite our cold climate, several bat species can be found in Southeast and Southcentral Alaska!🦇

▪️ Little Brown Bats (also known as the Little Brown Myotis) are among the most commonly encountered bats from Southeast Alaska all the way north to Fairbanks, Kotzebue, and the Kenai Peninsula.
▪️ Bats are nocturnal, which means they are primarily active at night.
▪️ To make it through Alaska’s long winters, some bats hibernate while others migrate to warmer areas, depending on their species.

thread invites you to sing, move, and learn together with this fun music and movement song🎶! Explore the fascinating world of bats in Alaska with your little critters while encouraging curiosity, movement, and early science learning. 🤗

When it feels tough, its okay to ask for help. ❤️

Babies and young children have big feelings. Every family has tough days. If you’re worried about sleep, feeding, tantrums, or your child’s emotions, it doesn’t mean you’re a bad parent. Talking to someone early can make things easier, for you and your child. 🫂

The Alaska Association for Infant and Early Child Hood Mental Health promotes the importance of social emotional well-being of infants, young children, and their families in Alaska by strengthening and supporting those who touch their lives. 🧸
