After more than 30 years with the Red Cross, Bill Morrow is retiring following a career dedicated to helping people in their greatest moments of need. Beginning his Red Cross journey in 1995, Bill has been a steadfast leader, mentor, and champion for our mission, leaving an immeasurable impact on communities across Alaska.

Today, we gathered to celebrate Bill's final day and thank him for three decades of service, friendship, and dedication. While we will miss his wisdom, humor, and steady presence, we are grateful for the legacy he leaves behind and the many lives he has touched along the way.

Please join us in wishing Bill a happy and well-deserved retirement. Thank you, Bill, for 30 years of living the Red Cross mission and making Alaska stronger, safer, and more resilient.

It takes a very special person to make an eight-year-long volunteer commitment, and Terri Dennett is definitely a very special person. Once a week, for the past eight years, Terri has briefed individuals joining the military about the services the Red Cross provides. This past week, Terri received a special thank-you from the Military Entrance Processing Command for her dedication to those who are serving our country. We'd also like to extend our gratitude to Terri for her commitment to the Red Cross and our Service to the Armed Forces team.

Our amazing Service to the Armed Forces volunteers came together yesterday for a fun afternoon of decorating Halloween-themed candy collection boxes for an upcoming Trick-or-Treat event at the JBER Hospital! 🎃🍬

These creative volunteers put their artistic talents to work to help bring a little extra joy to military families and children this Halloween season. Thank you to everyone who helped make these festive boxes spook-tacular, and if you're at JBER Hospital this month, consider donating candy to support this good cause.

All jokes aside, Fire Prevention Week is a great time to make sure your family has a plan in case of a home fire.

🏃 Practice your escape plan: Two minutes is the amount of time that fire experts say you may have to safely escape a home fire before it’s too late.
🏡 Have a meeting place: Designate a safe meeting place away from your home to ensure everyone is accounted for.
🧯 Test your smoke alarms: Check your smoke alarms to ensure they are working and not expired. Replace them every ten years.
