We have an active volunteer force that helps exercise and socialize shelter animals. Animal control officers respond to requests for assistance regarding animals in need and to concerns about animals that might be a threat to public safety.

🐾 BEAUTY, BRAINS, AND A WHOLE LOT OF PERSONALITY! 💕🐶

💙Our volunteers are absolutely in love with Katana, and after hearing about her latest adventures with them, it’s easy to see why!

💚This gorgeous girl isn’t just a pretty face; she’s got some serious brains, too! Katana already knows an impressive list of commands, including sit, down, stay, come, spin, and shake! She’s also a perfect little lady when it comes to taking treats.

💙During her time with our volunteers, they noticed that Katana gets pretty excited when she sees cats. Rather than letting that excitement take over, they worked with her on redirecting her attention using the commands she already knows. And guess what? It worked!

💚With a little patience and positive reinforcement, Katana was able to focus on her handler instead of the cats around her. It’s a wonderful example of just how intelligent and capable this amazing girl truly is!

💙Katana is a 3-year-old Husky/Shepherd mix who is playful, affectionate, and eager to please. She’s looking for a family who will appreciate her intelligence, continue encouraging her wonderful personality, and give her all the love she deserves.

Meet Phil, Lil, Chuckie, and Tommy! 💚

These four adorable little furballs are ready to trade their playpen adventures for a lifetime of love!

💙Much like their cartoon counterparts, these little cuties are still figuring out the big world around them. They may be a little shy at first, but can you blame them? Everything looks pretty big when you’re that tiny! 🥹

🐶💕 PUPPY FOSTERS NEEDED! 🏡🐾

We’ve got 9 adorable little puppies who need a helping hand, and we’re reaching out to our amazing community to see if anyone has a little extra room in their home (and their heart)! ❤️

These sweet pups are currently just 6 weeks old and need a safe, loving place to stay for approximately 2 weeks until they’re old enough to become available for adoption.

🏡 We’re looking for TWO foster homes! We plan on splitting this litter of 9 into two smaller groups, so we’re hoping to find two wonderful foster families willing to welcome a few extra paws into their homes!

That’s right! Just two weeks of puppy cuddles, tiny paws, wagging tails, and a whole lot of cuteness! 🥹🐾

Fostering is an incredible way to make a difference in an animal’s life, and even a short commitment like this can have a lasting impact.

This handsome gentleman is Garfield, and much like his cartoon namesake, he is NEVER short on things to say! 😂

Have you ever thought to yourself, “Boy, I wish my cat came with a built-in alarm system so I’d always know where he is!” Well, you’re in luck, because Garfield is here to make that dream a reality! 📢🐈

Garfield is an incredibly friendly boy who firmly believes that personal space is nothing more than a silly suggestion. He’s talkative, playful, affectionate, and absolutely overflowing with personality! Whether he’s following you around for attention or providing his expert commentary on your daily activities, life with Garfield is guaranteed to be entertaining.

🐾💙 Stone Has Brains AND Good Looks! 🐕

Our volunteers spent some quality time working with Stone this past weekend, and this handsome boy certainly showed off just how smart he is!

Stone came into room bursting with his usual happy, enthusiastic energy, but it didn’t take long for everyone to discover just how much this clever German Shepherd mix already knows! 🧠🐾

💙From sit, down, shake, stay, speak, and drop it, Stone has quite the collection of tricks up his sleeve! He’s also very motivated by treats and toys, making training both fun and rewarding.

By the end of his outing, our energetic boy had settled down and was calmly relaxing on the couch!
He also had the opportunity to meet three new volunteers and was beyond friendly with every single one of them!

🦕We’re so proud of the progress Stone has shown while in our care and are incredibly thankful for our wonderful volunteers who dedicate their time to helping our shelter animals shine.

Now all this smart, playful, and affectionate boy needs is a family to call his own! Come meet Stone and see just how amazing he is!💚💙

🦜From providing daily care and enrichment to keeping our furry (and sometimes not-so-furry) friends happy, healthy, and comfortable, our Animal Care Technicians play a huge role in making our shelter a better place for the animals who call it their temporary home.
