INVESTING IN THE DISTRICT ❄️
4th Avenue • Anchorage Mushing District

❄️ The Anchorage Mushing District is taking shape!

The return of the lighted snowflakes along 4th Avenue is another great step in creating a welcoming, vibrant district that celebrates winter, downtown Anchorage, and our unique mushing heritage.

But building a district is about more than lights, signs and streetscape improvements, it’s about the businesses that bring 4th Avenue to life.

We’re inviting businesses to be part of the Anchorage Mushing District by embracing the district, displaying Mushing District branding, and creating experiences that give locals and visitors even more reasons to explore 4th Avenue.

🐾 The arch is up. Now let’s build the District together.

Panels for the arch will be installed soon! Check out the proposed designs. Which one do you like?

While designing graphics for panels to go on the Anchorage Mushing District Arch, Maria played with variations in Adobe Firefly. So fun! Now back to work as this is all volunteering 💸 More on where this design goes, and other news soon!

🐾 Let’s help our Anchorage dogs!

Anchorage Animal Care and Control is looking for foster homes for dogs who could use a little extra care and a break from the shelter.

Even a short-term foster can make a difference. ❤️🐕

Please share and help spread the word!

🏡 We Need Foster Homes! 🐾

We’re reaching out to our community for potential foster homes for dogs in need. 💙

There are many reasons a shelter dog may benefit from spending some time in a foster home. Some need a quiet place to recover from a medical procedure, while others simply need a break from the shelter environment where they can relax, decompress, and enjoy some extra one-on-one attention.

And fostering doesn’t always mean a long-term commitment! Whether you’re able to open your home for a week, a few weeks, or even a month, that time can make a huge difference in the life of a shelter dog.

Right now, we’re looking to hear from people who are available to foster now or in the near future.

🐶 Interested in fostering?
Send us a direct message on Facebook or Instagram and let us know you’re interested. Our team can talk with you about our current needs and help determine if there’s a dog who may be a good fit for your home.

Sometimes a little time away from the shelter is exactly what a dog needs. Open your home, give them a break, and help us make a difference. 🐾💙
