The snow stopped and the sun came out for the second and final day of the APA Accounting and Finance Workshop. The day was full of presentations such as Electric Utility Accounting Jeopardy, a day in the life of a lineman, the CEO perspective on leadership and finance, and lots more accounting topics.

We are counting the days until next year's workshop, and we can't wait to do it all again in 2027.

What a wonderful first day for the annual APA Accounting and Finance Workshop! From panels of experts addressing AI in utility accounting, to accounting methods and practices, to some very thought provoking breakout sessions, among many other activities, it was a stellar day of education and networking.

Kotzebue Electric Association (KEA) got its turn on the regional stage today at the NRECA Regional Meeting in Salt Lake City. Lucy Nelson, general manager of KEA, gave a terrific presentation about the cooperative’s challenges and successes.

It was a great feature of an electric cooperative in Alaska that is doing amazing things to overcome the challenges thrown at it by geography, weather, and market forces far outside its control.
