Want to Get More Involved in Your Community?

Did you know there are opportunities to serve on municipal boards and commissions right here in Anchorage?

Our community benefits when residents bring their experiences, perspectives, and ideas to the table.

Serving on a board or commission is one way to get involved in local government, connect with fellow community members, and contribute to decisions that affect Anchorage.

The Municipality of Anchorage is currently seeking volunteers for two opportunities:

•Anchorage Parks & Recreation Service Area Commission
Passionate about our local parks, trails, recreation programs, and public spaces? This commission helps advise on parks and recreation planning, policies, and priorities throughout Anchorage.

Apply Here ⬇️

•Board of Equalization

Could you go one trip without your car? How about a day? Maybe even a whole week?

Week Without Driving is coming to Anchorage October 1–8!

People Mover, Bike Anchorage, and the Anchorage Health Department are inviting our community to experience Anchorage a little differently.

Walk to the store. Bike to work. Hop on the bus. Carpool with a friend. Take a scooter.

Choose a trip, a day, or challenge yourself to all eight days.

There’s also a Week Without Driving Bingo Card, local events throughout the week, and prizes including a 30-day People Mover pass, gift cards and more.
