D Shift wrapped up a night shift training scenario this week involving a Beechcraft 1900. A big thank you to ACE Air Cargo for allowing us to train on their aircraft.

Following the scenario, personnel completed aircraft familiarization training on the Beechcraft 1900 with ACE Air Cargo, reinforcing safety, access points, and operational considerations for real world incidents.

Great work by everyone involved for strengthening readiness and maintaining high standards of response.

Airport Police participated in this training as part of the Anchorage Bomb Squad. FBI Anchorage and the FBI’s Critical Incident Response Group brought Tactical Special Agent Bomb Technicians from across the country to Alaska for an advanced readiness course. Held at the Begich, Boggs Visitor Center near Portage Glacier, the scenario-based training focused on explosive device mitigation, hostage device mitigation, and operating effectively in challenging terrain.

On 9/24/26, Anchorage Airport Police Patrol Officers partnered with our HIDTA (High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area) team for a joint operation targeting street‑level narcotics dealing and open‑view drug use within the Airport’s jurisdiction. Through proactive contacts and surveillance, officers made multiple arrests and seized fentanyl and methamphetamine.

These operations will continue as we work alongside our law enforcement partners to keep our community safe and free from illicit drug activity.
