In recognition of National Case Management Week, we're celebrating our incredible case managers and the difference they make in our community!

Across CSS programs, our case managers help individuals and families navigate housing, healthcare, behavioral health needs, and other challenges by connecting them with essential resources and providing personalized support toward stability.

Last year, our case managers helped 164 households (351 individuals) secure housing, and 604 households (1,173 individuals) maintain housing!

To our incredible case managers: thank you for the compassion, dignity, and dedication you bring to your work every day!

Today, on Indigenous Peoples’ Day, Catholic Social Services honors the rich cultures, traditions, histories, and enduring contributions of Alaska Native peoples. We honor the strength and resilience of Alaska Native peoples, whose cultures, languages, traditions, and deep connections to the land have been an essential part of Alaska since time immemorial and remain vital to its identity today.

As we celebrate this day, we acknowledge the Dena’ina people, the original stewards of the land on which we live and work, and reaffirm our commitment to fostering a community rooted in dignity, respect, and belonging.

Today is World Mental Health Day.

This year’s theme, “Lived Experiences Heard: Real Voices, Real Change,” is a reminder of the importance of listening to people’s experiences and creating systems of care that respond to what people truly need.

Through Behavioral Health Services, Catholic Social Services works alongside individuals as they navigate mental health challenges, offering support, connection, and care grounded in dignity and respect. When lived experiences are heard, they can help shape stronger services, reduce barriers to care, and create meaningful change in our community.

Thank you to the ConocoPhillips Alaska volunteers who spent time with us at Grow North Farm! Their team came ready to work and help support a space that expands access to fresh produce while creating opportunities for small-business development within Anchorage’s refugee communities.

We’re grateful to ConocoPhillips for showing up, lending a hand, and supporting the neighbors and families connected to Grow North Farm.

Catholic Social Services is honored to receive the Innovative Programming Award from the Alaska Behavioral Health Association.

Over the past three years, our Behavioral Health Services team has expanded access to care within our shelters, bringing together clinicians, case managers, and peer support staff to help reduce barriers to behavioral health services for people experiencing homelessness. This recognition reflects the dedication of the staff who have helped build and strengthen this model, as well as the individuals who trust us to walk alongside them in their care. Thank you to the Alaska Behavioral Health Association for recognizing this work and to our Behavioral Health Services team for all they do each day.
