One year ago, devastating October storms, including ex-Typhoon Halong, left families across Western Alaska facing damaged homes, lost subsistence foods, and displacement from their communities.
Local and regional partners came together to create the Western Alaska Disaster Relief Fund, housed at the Alaska Community Foundation. People across Alaska and around the world gave what they could to help.
That generosity has supported immediate relief and ongoing recovery, with local leaders helping direct resources where their communities need them most.
One year later, the work continues. We’re grateful to everyone helping Western Alaska families recover and rebuild.
