Probate Judges have limited authority. Some probate cases have issues that can not be legally resolved in probate court. Those cases must be transferred to Circuit Court, which takes extra time and money. If this amendment passes, the Covington County Probate Judge will be able to handle those issues, saving the public time and money.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Purchase your Pink Breast Cancer Tag or Breast Cancer Research Tag in the Probate Office!

Proceeds from the Pink Breast Cancer Tag are distributed to the Joy to Life Foundation to be used in every county in Alabama to provide free mammograms and other breast cancer screenings to medically underserved women, to build and support breast cancer awareness among all Alabamians, and to promote over-all health, well-being, and education throughout the state.

Proceeds from the Breast Cancer Research Tag are distributed to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama to be donated to the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center for the most advanced and innovative breast cancer research.

Because access to the courthouse is limited during the Andalusia High School homecoming parade, the Probate Office will be closed today from 2:00 p.m., until the parade ends.
