Look at these amazing Drip Artists! Second grade art students have been inspired by Canadian artist, Sylvia Demers and are creating some unique drip pieces that will be used as the backgrounds for our crazy chicken drawings.

Third Graders are studying the artist, Alma Thomas and are creating abstract moonlit pumpkin patches.

First Grade is learning all about TEXTURE in art. We’re practicing drawing lines to create texture on a practice activity sheet and then we’re using painted papers and scraps to create our own “Wild Thing” collages. We read, Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak and looked closely at the illustrations to find different textures. Max and the Wild Things let the wild rumpus begin and they roared their terrible roars, gnashed their terrible teeth, rolled their terrible eyes, and showed their terrible claws. We’re creating our very own Wild Things and can’t wait to show them off.
