At our 3rd Quarter Commander’s Call, the 89th Airlift Wing took time to celebrate the dedicated Airmen behind the mission and reflect on the milestones that powered another extraordinary quarter across the SAM Fox enterprise:

✈️ Mission Ex*****on: Supported over 1,370 sorties, safely moved more than 12,700 passengers and managed 2,190 aerial port cargo missions to keep global diplomacy moving without pause.

✈️ Developing Airmen & Families: Advanced dozens of Airmen through technical training, FCC qualifications, FAA certifications and NCO promotions while reinvesting in our community through facility quality-of-life renovations.

Excellence is never accidental—it is earned daily by professionals who refuse to settle. Thank you to our Airmen, civilians and mission partners who make perfection look routine.

Good food, great times and elite company.

Yesterday, the SAM Fox family traded flight suits for steins, pretzels, and Bavarian camaraderie as we hosted our annual FoxtoberFest at Joint Base Andrews! From custom glass steins and great food to celebrating our best-dressed teammates, it was an unforgettable day of community and connection.

Perfection is our standard in the air, and building a winning team culture on the ground is how we get there. A massive thank you to everyone who came out, fired up the grills, and made this tradition a success.

Unexplained tracks. A flash of red vanishing into the tree line. A mysterious figure keeping watch over America’s Airfield.

One SAM Fox Airman stepped forward to document his encounters with the elusive local resident roaming Joint Base Andrews.

While the investigation continues, across the 89th Airlift Wing, catching a glimpse of our namesake red fox is more than just a rare sighting—it’s considered a good omen for the mission ahead.

With Foxtoberfest and the SAM Fox Association Reunion arriving September 17–18, our heritage and good fortune have never been stronger.

The evidence? Indisputable.
The legend? Alive and well.
Good fortune? Absolutely.

"You don't have to get ready if you stay ready." ✈️🇺🇸

This week, the 89th Airlift Wing hosted our new Air Mobility Command leadership, U.S. Air Force Lt. Gen. Daniel Tulley, AMC commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Raun Howell, AMC command chief, as the very first stop on their command tour.

During an all-call and small-group roundtables, AMC’s command team spoke directly with our SAM Fox Airmen. Whether on the flightline fixing aircraft, in the cockpit flying the mission, or providing mission support behind the scenes, every Airman in this wing plays a vital role in generating airpower and delivering diplomacy for our nation.

Some missions are measured in miles. Others are measured in moments ✈️🇺🇸

This week, the SAM Fox team and the CanDo wing of the 305th Air Mobility Wing joined forces to inspire the next generation during a Civil Air Patrol event at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst.

More than 200 cadets explored Air Mobility Command aircraft, met the people behind the mission and experienced firsthand how mobility Airmen deliver global reach, strengthen partnerships and answer the nation's call.
