💙 GOOD CHARACTER. STRONG FAMILIES. STRONGER COMMUNITIES. WE STAND WITH THE WARD FAMILY! 💙
At the Boys & Girls Club of Brazoria County, we believe that true greatness is not measured solely by victories on the field, but by the character we demonstrate, the lives we impact, and the way we treat others.
We are incredibly proud to have honored the Ward Family with our prestigious Judge Ogden Bass Community Impact Award, recognizing their unwavering commitment to uplifting, inspiring, and creating opportunities for young people throughout Brazoria County.
Today, we want the Ward Family to know something important: YOU ARE NOT STANDING ALONE. OUR CLUB FAMILY STANDS WITH YOU! 💙
As Cam Ward navigates the pressures of professional football, we are saddened to see the personal attacks and threats directed toward him and his family. His sister, Chantel Ward, has expressed the emotional toll these hurtful messages have taken on their family.
Football is a game. Families are not targets. And no athlete or family should have to endure threats or personal attacks simply because of the outcome of a game.
Every day at our Boys & Girls Clubs, we teach young people the importance of good character, responsible citizenship, kindness, respect, empathy, and standing up for what is right. We remind them that words have power, that disagreements should never turn into cruelty, and that how we treat people during difficult moments says far more about our character than how we celebrate their success.
Cam Ward has reminded us that adversity is part of the journey and that his focus remains on improving, competing, and winning. That determination is a lesson our young people can carry into their own lives.
To the Ward Family: You have invested in the future of our children, believed in our community, and demonstrated what it means to give back. Now, we want to surround you with the same love, encouragement, and support you have shown the youth of Brazoria County.
Your impact reaches far beyond the football field. Your legacy is reflected in the lives you touch and the young people you inspire.
