Anna Fire Department

10/08/2026

Our firefighters were out at Slayter Creek Park putting their equipment and skills to the test during a training exercise. Training like this helps our crews stay prepared to respond when our neighbors need them most!

Speaking of safety, Anna Fire Rescue is hosting a Fire Safety Program for kids tomorrow, Friday, Oct. 9, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Anna Community Library!

Bring the kiddos for hands-on fire safety activities, an obstacle course and more! Superhero costumes are encouraged!

A different kind of rescue call this morning. 🐾

Early this morning, our Station 1 crew responded to rescue several kittens trapped in a storm drain. Thanks to some careful teamwork and a little patience, all of the kittens were safely brought to safety.

Calls come in all shapes and sizes, and we're always happy to help when needed.

Burn Ban in Effect**

Collin County Commissioners Court has implemented a mandatory 90-day outdoor burn ban, effective Aug. 25, due to prolonged dry conditions and increased wildfire risk.

Here’s what neighbors need to know:

• City of Anna: Open burning within city limits remains restricted and regulated under the City of Anna Code of Ordinances.

• Unincorporated Collin County: All outdoor burning is prohibited, including trash, brush piles, leaves and open fields.

• Grills & Smokers: Enclosed grills, smokers and barbecue pits are permitted. All flames, embers and coals must remain fully contained within the device.

Please use extra caution during these dry conditions and help prevent wildfires in our community.
