Jim Fredericks for AA county Sheriff!

It's Time to Vote for Jim Fredericks for AA County Sheriff! Early voting is underway and your vote will return a proven leader to the Sheriff's Office to restore fiscal sanity and reprioritize community safety.

I want to get back to the basics of safer communities, a safer courthouse, and reducing the backlog of criminal warrants. In the last 4 years, the Sheriff's Office budget has ballooned from about $13M to $18M of your taxpayer dollars! And what do we have to show for that increase... Zero new deputy positions.

As the only candidate to serve their law enforcement career right here in our county, I know how to get things done in county government, and my track records proves it. During my term from 2018 to 2022 we secured a new Sheriff's Office facility, modernized technology, secured grants and new safety equipment for deputies, fully implemented body-worn cameras, added 8 new deputy positions, reduced warrants, and more!

My career has been dedicated to serving this county and our communities and I hope I've earned your support. Now, grab your friends and neighbors and let's get out and vote!

Scrolling Facebook today and found this site from a local photographer Galactic Geist Photography. He wrote such a good post about Delegate Stuart Schmidt. It really reflects what many of us already know. If you don’t know Delegate Schmidt you will not find a better description than here.

This morning Anne Arundel County held its Housing Symposium in Annapolis. Delegate Stuart Schmidt attended because he cares about his community and understands the importance of our local housing. The question is where is Chuck?
Vote for Delegate Stu Schmidt.

🚨 BILL 61-26 IS DEFEATED 🚨
Tonight the Anne Arundel County Council voted down Bill 61-26 by a vote of 0–7. Not a single member supported it.
Bill 61-26 was a sweeping rewrite of our county’s zoning code. It would have:
❌ Made Plan2040 the lens for interpreting zoning law
❌ Given county inspectors a right to enter private property and homes
❌ Capped what homeowners can build on their own land
❌ Shifted power from your elected Council to unelected bureaucrats
Residents showed up, called in, and spoke out at hearing after hearing. The people spoke, and the government listened. 🇺🇸
Thank you to every Anne Arundel resident who made their voice heard. This is what happens when citizens stay engaged. Let’s keep it going. 💪

Our neighbors spoke out before the county council meeting tonight. The rally included farmers, maritime / watermen, and business owners who are against 61-26.

Leadership means being prepared. And it doesn't come with a script.

At the Broadneck Council of Communities candidate forum on May 14, District 5 County Council candidate Natalie Ogilvie read her opening statement off the page, starting with her own introduction.

Her platform? "Responsible growth." "Today's realities and tomorrow's opportunities." "Reliable access in and out of our district."

Which roads? Which schools? What would she change?

There’s no plan. Just a script.

District 5 deserves someone who knows it without notes. 🗳️ Election Day is Tuesday, November 3.

Calling to Action

We need to pack the room to show our representatives what we expect and demand. They work for us, all residents of the county.

🏢 Multifamily housing next to your house? That's the Democrat’s goal. Your vote and voice will decide 🗳️

Plan2040's density push came from a Democratic County Executive and passed on a party-line vote by the Democratic Council majority. Keep both, and you’ll get more of the same. If you want more multifamily housing in developed communities, vote for a Democratic county executive and Democrats for the county council. If you don't, you have a choice and your vote can send a message by voting for Republicans to say stop 🛑

You can also come testify on three bills before the County Council on October 19. One bill pushes density. Two bills push back. They're connected. All three will decide which direction Anne Arundel goes.

Bill 61-26 is the County Executive's zoning update. Buried in it is a requirement that zoning conform to Plan2040, the county's General Development Plan, which pushes for more density. I offered an amendment to strip that requirement out. It failed 4–3 on a party-line vote.

When county policy rewards more density, developers have every incentive to build as much as they possibly can. That makes the next question unavoidable: what do campaign contributions have to do with density?

Bill 65-26, my Campaign Contribution Disclosure and Comprehensive Zoning Integrity Act, answers that question three ways:🚫 It limits contributions from developers to the officials deciding their projects.🔎 Requires disclosure, so you can see who's giving⚖️ Requires recusal, so officials who took the money don't vote on the project

Bill 71-26, my Neighborhood Preservation and Environmental Protection Act, does two things:🏡 It rolls back the density increases for affordable housing that Bill 72-24 created.🏡 It keeps triplexes, fourplexes, and multifamily buildings out of established single-family neighborhoods.

📅 Monday, October 19 · 7 p.m. · Arundel Center, 44 Calvert St., Annapolis

Enough rubber stamps. Time for some checks and balance. ✅ Who's making sure Anne Arundel County works for you?

💸 A property appraised at $6.775 million was sold for $1 million (Res. 16-25). Somebody should have asked why.
⚡ 61% of county residents say their electric bills are hard to afford.
📞 7 in 10 who contacted the county say the problem never got fixed.

One-party control gave us a rubber stamp for 8 years. These Republican candidates signed a Compact to be a check instead: lower bills, clean government, and answers when you call.

Affordable. Accountable. Anne Arundel. 🇺🇸

🗳️ Early voting starts Thursday, Oct. 22. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3.

👉 Watch, then share with one neighbor who's tired of the rubber stamp.
