Compassion Conversation this Thursday: Substance Use Disorder

Every month we gather to talk about a different issue affecting our neighbors experiencing homelessness. This Thursday, October 15, from 6:30-8:30pm we're focusing on substance use, and we're grateful to welcome a variety of presenters including Anoka County Opioid Solutions Initiative, Neighborhood HealthSource, and Begin Anew .

Here's what we'll cover:

Local picture:
• Data and efforts from the Anoka County Opioid Solutions Initiative

Harm reduction and health:
• Why harm reduction matters for unhoused community members
• Health risks for people using drugs while unhoused
• Small steps toward autonomy and health

Local opioid adulterants and use trends in the area:
• Xylazine, medetomidine, and other veterinary tranquilizers

• 7-OH and other kratom-related compounds
