๐Ÿš’Extrication Training
At our meeting last night, your Anson Firefighters had the opportunity to practice vehicle extrication. During this training our crew worked with specialized extraction tools to learn and reinforce the skills needed to safely remove individuals from vehicles following an accident.

Vehicle extrication is an important part of emergency response, requiring teamwork, communication, precision, and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure. Training with these tools allows our firefighters to become familiar with the equipment, practice different techniques and work together to handle challenging situations they may encounter in the field.

A big thank you to our firefighters for their dedication to learning, improving their skills, and serving our community.

Shoutout to Hawley fire department for sending some of their crew to train alongside ours.

๐Ÿš’ Fire Prevention Day at Anson Elementary! ๐Ÿš’

Your Anson firefighters recently had the opportunity to spend some time with the students at Anson Elementary, teaching fire safety, talking about smoke detectors and home escape plans, and giving the kids a chance to get up close with the fire trucks!

We always enjoy getting out into our community, especially when we get to help the next generation learn how to stay safe. A little fire prevention education today can make a big difference tomorrow!

And since we got to spend part of our time in the gym, we couldnโ€™t leave without squeezing in a short basketball game! ๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ˜‚

A big thank-you to Maddie Mello for capturing some moments from the day! Weโ€™re sharing a few photos from our visit while respecting the privacy of our students.

Thank you to Anson Elementary for having us out. Whether we're responding to emergencies, teaching fire safety, or shooting a few hoops with the kids, your Anson firefighters are proud to be here for our community.

๐Ÿš’ AVFD is at Anson Elementary today! ๐Ÿš’

If you happen to drive by the school and see our fire trucks there, donโ€™t be alarmed โ€” this is a scheduled fire prevention event.

Our crews are spending the day with the students talking about fire safety, including smoke detectors, getting out of the house safely, and having a good evacuation plan.

The kids will also get a chance to check out the fire trucks and learn a little more about what we do. Some of our older students may even get to participate in some hands-on fire extinguisher training. ๐Ÿงฏ

We appreciate Anson Elementary for having us out and giving us the opportunity to spend some time with the kids while teaching them some important fire safety skills.

Stay safe, Anson! ๐Ÿš’๐Ÿ”ฅ

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ 25 years. We still remember. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Twenty-five years ago, our country watched as the unimaginable unfolded. Families lost loved ones, communities were changed forever, and firefighters and first responders answered a call that would cost many of them their lives.

This year, as we mark 25 years since September 11, 2001, we will place 25 American flags in the grass in front of our fire truckโ€”one flag for each year that has passed.

We will also place one of our rescue dummies in full turnout gear. Not as a decoration, but as a reminder of the men and women who put on their gear that morning, grabbed their equipment, and went toward the danger while others were trying to get away.

Twenty-five years have passed, but the sacrifice has not been forgotten.

We remember the lives that were lost.
We remember the families who were left behind.
We remember the courage of those who answered the call.

25 years later, we still remember.
We will never forget. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿš’

๐Ÿš’ Work Day at Anson VFD! ๐Ÿš’

Not every day at the fire department involves a fire call โ€” sometimes itโ€™s about making sure weโ€™re ready when that call comes.

Today our firefighters spent the day giving our apparatus some much-needed attention. We vacuumed out the trucks, blew out the air filters, and washed our trucks from top to bottom.

Keeping our equipment clean, maintained, and ready to go is an important part of being prepared for whatever our community may need.

A clean truck may not put out a fire, but a well-maintained truck helps make sure weโ€™re ready to fight the fire when the tones drop. ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿš’

Thank you to all of our volunteers who gave up part of their day to help keep your Anson Fire Department ready to serve! โค๏ธ

Prepared. Maintained. Ready.

๐Ÿš’ Fire Call Update

Anson Fire was dispatched tonight for a report of a large, glowing fire in the area of Twin Bridges.

Our firefighters checked the reported area but were unable to locate any fire in or around Twin Bridges. We later learned that the Texas A&M Forest Service was working a fire in the area with another local fire department.

We believe the glow from that fire may have been visible from the Twin Bridges area, leading to the report.

We appreciate the caller taking the time to report what they saw. If you see something that looks like a fire, please donโ€™t hesitate to call 911. Itโ€™s always better to have firefighters check it out than to assume itโ€™s nothing.

๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿš’ Stay safe, Anson!

This morning Anson VFD was paged out to a MVA on FM 707. We had personnel respond and arrive on scene.
There was no entrapment, but were serious injury. We had enough man power on scene to do what needed to be done, So command held up the response with our Trucks. Chief and Ast Chief stayed on scene and assisted EMS and The SO with loading the patient. Once this was completed we cleared the scene.
Anson VFD always answers the call for assistance.

Thanks all that were involved in helping get this patient loaded and transported. A Special thanks to Jones County SO and their deputies.
