Webster Hose To Parade in Nyack, NY

ANSONIA – Members of the Webster Hose Company will participate in the biennial fire chief’s inspection parade Saturday in Nyack, New York. This parade is always one of the largest held in Rockland County and fire departments from all parts of New York and New Jersey are expected to be in attendance.

At the last parade held in 1950, the Webster Hose Company won first prize for best appearance in regulation uniform in this stiff competition.

A soggy Sunday, but the AFD fleet still showed up for the annual Blessing of the Trucks, an annual event hosted by St Joseph parish at Warsaw Park. Thanks to all who braved the elements to attend the event.

Big shout out to Superintendent of Public Works Mike D'Alessio and his crew for repainting the bay doors and the yellow striping on the entrance ramp to Station 3. Not only does it make the firehouse sparkle just a little more, but it adds a measure of safety to returning crews backing the apparatus into the station. Thank you!!

Today the members of Webster Hose H&L Co #3 held a bell ringing ceremony at Webster Park to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and an unknown target that was thwarted in PA. Assisted by APD, ARMS, Mayor Tyska and other dignitaries as well as members of the community, the bell rang continuously from 0846 until 0903 to mark the times of the two planes striking the twin towers. Taps was then played in remembrance of all who were lost on that fateful day. Thanks to all who participated!

Calling all Brothers/Sisters to the annual "ringing of the bell" at Webster Park to remember those who perished on 9/11/2001. Members are asked to meet in civilian dress on Friday, 9/11/26 at 08:30 at the park (Central St at East Main St and Father Salemi Dr). All City First Responders, City Hall staff and members of the community are invited to attend and participate. Ceremony will start at 08:46 sharp.
