🔥Our SFMD firefighter recruits have reached the halfway point of their academy, and the heat is on!

Over the past several weeks, recruits have been putting their training to the test through a variety of live-fire evolutions, including garage fires, first-, second-, and third-floor fires, flashover chambers, vehicle fires, and so much more.
These realistic training scenarios are essential in preparing our future firefighters for the challenges they’ll face in the field. Each evolution builds confidence, sharpens decision-making, reinforces recognition of fire behavior, and strengthens the teamwork and communication needed to operate safely and effectively on the fireground.

A special thank you to our partners at mesafiredept and RTO Travis Yates for their continued dedication, instruction, and support throughout the academy.
We’re proud of the progress these recruits have made and look forward to seeing their continued growth as they tackle the second half of their training! 🚒🔥
