John Levi Stewart was granted the land in Orange County Florida by the President of the United States of America. He moved there with his family 26 Dec 1853 and the deed was signed a year later. It was total wilderness.

The “10” on the plat is feet from the northwest corner of the first Church Cemetery which is due east of the location first Apopka Schoolhouse.

They were eventually absorbed by the Edgewood-Greenwood Cemetery.

Mr. Stewart sold a piece of the land in 1859 to build the Orange Mason Lodge. In 2024, it is the longest operating Mason Lodge in continuous operation in Florida. His sons built and, owned, and ran the building. It is located along the bottom of John Lodge. Stewart’s block approximately where you see the faint circle along East Main Street.
