At Kaleidoscope, student voice and choice is valued. The innovative and collaborative learning environment provides the opportunity for students to make their own choices, develop their interests at an earlier age, and prepares them with the skills needed to tackle complex tasks in an ever-changing global society. We also want our students to feel comfortable expressing themselves, sharing their ideas, and being their authentic selves as they navigate middle school.

A Monday Moment with Molitor!

Have you seen the awesome mural on the east side of our building?

This mural was painted in 2023 in collaboration with local artist Neo Medina and features past KA students. Look closely and you’ll also find the KA logo hidden within the separation of colors! At KA, we use the motto “Express Yourself” to encourage students to be comfortable being their authentic selves as they navigate middle school. We want our students to know that who they are matters, their voices matter, and there is a place for them at KA.

Want to see learning grow? 🌿 A huge THANK YOU to the Appleton Education Foundation for awarding a $475 grant to KA! With Ms. Parker’s "Success Grows Here" initiative, students will plant, propagate, nurture, and sell a variety of plants — gaining hands-on science experience and real entrepreneurial skills, while building connections with staff and peers. This year, Greg Austin celebrates a legacy of over 30 years in our district as an orchestra teacher! We are so lucky to have someone here at Kaleidoscope who is not only an expert, but also a very talented musician. On Monday, he was honored by Superintendent Hartjes, his building principals, and the head of the fine arts department, Renee Ulman.

At Kaleidoscope we have a strong focus and care for the social and emotional well being of all our students. We support our students by looking at the whole child, taking the time to build meaningful relationships, and meeting students where they are at. Our Student Services Team works hard to implement supports and programs to best serve our student population. Additionally, we have a self-regulation room for students to utilize as needed throughout the school day. Our goal is to make sure every student feels supported, understood, and connected so they can be successful both in and out of the classroom.

At KA, we encourage students to develop self-advocacy skills and learn to ask for help when they need it. This is an important skill that takes practice! Take a moment this week to remind your student that it’s okay to ask for help and encourage them to speak up about what they need to be successful.
