🌧️ Some things don’t mix, going over 100 MPH in the rain definitely is one of those things.🚫

The polar bear🐻‍❄️ was busy in south county yesterday, making various stops and responding to crashes. One of the crashes he responded to was on Casserly Rd., fortunately, nobody was injured.

We’re expecting some rain today, here are some tips when driving in the rain:

- Give yourself extra time
- Follow at a safe distance
- Slow down!
- Windshield wipers and headlights on
- Avoid traveling in flooded areas
- Drive alert and sober!

Stay safe out there! 🚗💨

🚨 A couple of nights ago, CHP was providing traffic control at an active construction zone on HWY 152, officers stopped a van for a traffic violation. The 20-year-old driver was impaired, leading to an arrest for driving under the influence (DUI). ‼️

🌟 CHP officers play a vital role in maintaining safe work areas and minimizing the impact of construction on motorists. They enhance safety for construction workers and reduce congestion for drivers. Their proactive approach, including traffic control, visible presence, and strict enforcement of traffic laws, facilitates safe travel🛣️

🦺 Construction zones present challenges for both drivers and workers. It’s crucial for all road users to comply with posted signs indicating lane closures or road work. Signs warning of “Road/Lanes Shut Down” serve as reminders of the importance of caution and compliance in maintaining safety. 🚧

☀️ Beautiful day in Santa Cruz. ☀️

📱 We’ve been receiving lots of concerns from citizens who are reaching out to us by sending messages and phone calls about drivers passing vehicles while crossing over solid double yellow lines on HWY 9. 👎

‼️ There is absolutely no excuse for crossing over double yellow lines on HWY 9. Please drive within your lane and don’t be reckless on HWY 9. Your life and the lives of others depend on it. 🙏

🌧️ **Secure Your Load!** 🌧️

With a very wet winter ahead, many are busy trimming bushes and trees. As you head to the dump, make sure to secure your load! 🚛🔒

No one wants an unexpected surprise on the road! A CHP officer recently pulled over a pickup and trailer on SR-1 for not securing its load. Remember, an improperly secured load is a serious threat—not just to the driver, but to everyone sharing the road. 🚨

Flying debris can cause evasive maneuvers and potentially serious crashes. 💥

The mission of the California Highway Patrol is to provide the highest level of safety, service, and security! 🌟

🦙🚦 Not your average day on the road! 🛣️

It’s not every day that we get a call about an Emu running in and out of the road in the area of Harper St. at 17th Ave. ⚠️ Just a couple of days ago, we received numerous calls about an Emu walking into traffic. While we often deal with dogs, cats, deer, and occasionally birds, an Emu was unexpected! 😅

Fortunately, the Emu’s owner quickly arrived on the scene, and we managed to safely corral their feathery friend. A big shoutout and thank you to everyone who called in to help us handle this unique situation! 🙌
