America-First Conservative (R) Candidate for Congress in the 16th District of Florida.

Old Florida, or sold-out Florida?

I’m Eddie Speir, running for Congress in FL-16. I believe in protecting our communities, our heritage, and our way of life.

My opponents’ development model is land use arbitrage: buy cheap, rezone, flip for a multiple, and leave the county holding the infrastructure bill. It turns neighborhoods into corporate projects instead of places for families to grow. That’s not the Florida our kids deserve to inherit.

Local control. Real transparency. People first.

Vote Eddie Speir for Congress, FL-16.

Big Tech is forcing NDAs on mayors so communities don’t learn what’s being built in their backyards. Officials in multiple states have been barred from disclosing basics like power and water use, who the end user is, or even that an NDA exists. In Tucson, Amazon’s $3.6B data center only became public after a document leaked, and votes had already been taken.

We are watching the same playbook in DeSoto County with a massive AI data center. Your elected officials may already know things you don’t and may be legally silenced from telling you. Microsoft has admitted this practice is wrong and pledged to end NDAs with local governments. The rest of the industry must follow.

If elected to Congress I will introduce legislation banning NDAs between data center developers and any state or local official. No secret deals. If a project is safe and necessary it should be defended publicly before a single vote.

Share for transparency. Vote Eddie Speir for Congress. Protect your water, your power, your land.

1 year moratorium passes!!!!

DeSoto County put a Temporary Moratorium on Data Centers on today’s agenda. AND IT PASSED!

This is a win for community transparency and a victory for neighbors who demanded answers.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, spoke out, and pushed back, even though I wasn’t able to be there today. We will keep fighting to protect our water, power, and land, and push for federal action to ban secret NDAs.

Vote Eddie Speir for Congress, FL 16.

“There comes a time when good people must stand up and fight. That time is now.”

I'm running to defend our communities, families, and faith from secret deals and outside influence that put corporate interests ahead of everyday Floridians. I believe in limited government, fierce transparency, and returning power to local voters so decisions about water, power, and land are made publicly, not behind closed doors.

This campaign is about people-first leadership: accountability, transparency, and protecting what matters most in our neighborhoods. Stand with me to demand honest government that answers to you, not to the highest bidder.

Vote Eddie Speir for Congress, FL 16.

We found a property with Sydney Gruters’ sign on a Benderson-owned lot in Ellenton, yet again.

Can anyone find a property with her sign that isn't on developer land?
Post a photo, tag us, and prove it.
If you can't, then vote for someone who isn't bought: Eddie Speir for Congress, FL-16.

Tonight at the Sarasota MAGA Patriots meeting, I met Congressman Greg Steube. I am looking forward to hearing him speak and I will be speaking shortly after to this great group of patriots who have already endorsed me in my fight against the establishment.

Wrangled a gator yesterday.

At least he didn't lie to my face or hide behind a dress and a smile while doing it.

I'll be paying to support you getting the information needed to be an informed voter. You deserve to know.
spent years inside Florida's political machine before he walked away from it. That's why I trust what he writes.
His latest piece on Sydney & Joe Gruters raises questions the Gruters machine doesn't want asked.
It’s a long read but worth it to really know what is happening within YOUR state. Decide for yourself.

Spent the day training for Congress. Figured if I'm going to be
wrestling the swamp in Washington, I should probably know how it feels to wrestle one in person first. Turns out the real swamp creatures in DC are a lot less honest than the gators down here. At least the gator isn't pretending to be your friend.
But beyond the fun, the day actually meant something. I spent time learning about what it takes to preserve Old Florida, the wetlands, the wildlife, the way of life that's disappearing under bulldozers and rezoning votes faster than most people realize. This is the Florida before developers and Tallahassee insiders decided your backyard was their next investment opportunity.
We talk a lot about fighting corruption and fighting the establishment. But part of this fight is just as simple as protecting the land and the heritage that makes this place worth fighting for in the first place.
Old Florida is still here. Let's keep it that way.
