There are 4 kids that were registered from April that we are hoping to fly this weekend. If the rain stays away, expect a call from us on Saturday & Sunday.

On May 9th, EAA Chapter 1226 hosted a Young Eagles Rally with 10 kids registered. Eight amazing kids showed up, all excited about flying. They were anxious and excited, but the youngest one was a little more apprehensive about flying, and we weren’t sure if he would go or not. The pilot offered the option to only taxi around the airport and not leave the ground, but he convinced the pilot that he wanted to fly. Besides mentioning he was our youngest Y.E. Pilot, by the expression on his face, you would never know that he was even a little bit nervous. Thank you, Parents, for registering your kids. We enjoyed this group of boys; everyone had great manners, and it was nice to see how much they really enjoyed flying. A big shout-out to the Chapter Volunteers and the Volunteer Young Eagle Pilots who donate their time and airplane. They fly in from surrounding airports such as Okeechobee, Airport Manatee, and Naples, and each one pays for their own fuel. They do this because they enjoy inspiring the kids in Arcadia by letting them fly their airplane. The pilots give each kid a certificate, pilot logbook, and unlimited online flight training valued at $300!
