Ohio enacted Senate Bill 273 (known as the Keep Them Safe Act), which went into effect on September 17, 2026, allowing licensed fi***rm dealers and law enforcement agencies to voluntarily provide temporary fi***rm storage.
🔹Temporary storage may be helpful during a move or home renovation, working out of town, vacation, military deployment, divorce or family crisis, estate settlement or probate, home security upgrades, or when there are mental health or su***de prevention concerns.
🔹At participating FFL locations, fi***rms will be stored inside a secured storage locker or safe.
🔹All FFL retail locations and all legal fi***rm owners are eligible to participate in this program.
