WHAT A DROP! Our Great Pumpkin Drop was a SMASHING success!

What an incredible turnout today at Archdale Public Library! We had a massive crowd, and it was wonderful to see not only our Homeschool Explorers families but also members of the community come out to cheer on the fun!

In partnership with Randolph County 4-H, our young scientists put their creativity and engineering skills to the test by designing their own baskets to protect their pumpkins from a high-flying fall!

We saw parachutes, bubble wrap, cotton balls, tape, creative faces, and all kinds of inventive designs! The kids even got to choose the height of their pumpkin's drop from the fire truck ladder. Some pumpkins survived the landing... while others met a much messier fate!

From the anticipation of the climb to the big moment of impact, everyone had an absolute blast! It was the perfect combination of science, creativity, problem-solving, and good old-fashioned community fun.

A HUGE thank-you to Randolph County 4-H for partnering with us and to the amazing firefighters at Guil-Rand Fire Department for bringing the fire truck, climbing high into the sky, and helping us make this unforgettable program possible! We are so grateful for our community partners who help us create these special experiences for local families.

And thank you to everyone who came out to participate or watch! We loved seeing our community come together for a little pumpkin-dropping excitement!

Now the big question... Did YOUR pumpkin survive the drop? Tell us in the comments, add your pics too!
